Applications
utilizing Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are expanding in many
areas. LED differ substantially from traditional lamps in terms
of physical size, luminous intensity and flux, spatial
distribution and color rendering properties.
Spectralux has developed an accurate measurement system to
characterize LED using an integrating sphere, a spectroradiometer and a photometer. The input aperture size of
the detector used has a circular acceptance area of 100 mm˛.
The integrating sphere is used to measure the total luminous
flux of LED and the averaged LED intensity can be measured.
